In Islandish conditional compound sentences, the condition clause is in the indicative of the respective tense and aspect, the conditioned action in the conditional. The tense and aspect of the conditional follows the same rules as in temportal sentences.

The condition clause is usually preceded with hoka or bo (when/if). The conjunction ubo expresses the english "until" and "unless".

Hoka jabreješ vih žárim. When you come, I am happy.

Hoka jabrdeš vih žáriti. If you come, I will be happy.

Hoka niš jabrdel, vih žáril. If you had come, I would have been happy (then).

Hoka niš jabrdel, vih žárim. If you had come, I would be happy (now).

Uvih žáriti ubo jabrdeš. I won't be happy, unless/until you come.

Ubo to mňerdemi, uviha mňe zmidne. He won't make it unless we help him.

Bo spršeš, više viti rukňin. As long as you lie, you will be punished.

Bo lelideš kosemka, viha de pačkati. If you touch the dog, he will bite you.
